Patron saints of Europe venerated in Roman Catholicism
There are six patron saints of Europe venerated in Roman Catholicism,
five of them so declared by Pope John Paul II between 1980–1999:
1. Saint Cyril,
2. Saint Methodius,
3. Saint Bridget of Sweden,
4. Catherine of Siena,
5. Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross (Edith Stein).
6. Benedict of Nursia,
declared "Patron Saint of all Europe" by Pope Paul VI in 1964.
