Jiddu Krishnamurti
Independent Spiritual Master
India
“The ability to observe without evaluating is the highest form of intelligence.”
Like many advanced spiritual souls, Krishnamurti cannot be caged into a specific religion, organization or belief.
Just read his quote below to see:
“When you call yourself an Indian or
a Muslim or a Christian or a European,
or anything else, you are being violent.
Do you see why it is violent?
Because you are separating yourself
from the rest of mankind. When you
separate yourself by belief, by
nationality, by tradition, it breeds
violence. So, a man who is seeking
to understand violence does not
belong to any country, to any religion,
to any political party or partial system;
he is concerned with the total
understanding of mankind.”
― Jiddu Krishnamurti
How he was found:
In April 1909, Krishnamurti (he was
about 14 years old) first met Charles
Webster Leadbeater, who claimed
clairvoyance. Leadbeater had noticed
Krishnamurti on the Society's
(Theosophical Society headquarters
at Adyar in Madras.) beach on the
Adyar river, and was amazed by the
"most wonderful aura he had ever
seen, without a particle of
selfishness in it".
For many years he was widely talked
about. Thus I heard his name a lot
as a child, even in Puerto Rico.
--- A FIRST-PERSON ACCOUNT:
The author ,raul ,was fortunate to
meet personally Krishnamurti in Ojai,
CA, about 6 months before his last days.
The experience and depth of it was
incredible, truly awesome. I will just
give a few lines on it (it was outside,
beside a large tree, about 1K people
were seating): He came out, perfectly
straight, with a fierce energy, even
thou his body was very old then.
Immediately he remarked - what a
beautiful day and tree, and that there
were hidden messages in the shadows...
Then a bright light - a strong clear
awareness enveloped all of us, and
it all looked SO beautiful, and all the
habits of the mind-and-body
were illumined in the bright light -
like a mass of ropes - but now
were seen as separate from us.
Then I thought - I WANT TO KEEP THIS
- and then experienced that I could not
desired anymore - I was filled to the
brim!Next came the BLISS - such a
DEEP LOVE, and ocean came up,
and I was intoxicated in this elixir,
the RED clear light visible as an ocean...
I knew that to live in that LOVE
would be a lives culmination!
Finally, after about a hour, he perceived
some peoples restlessness and stopped
the meeting. I really do not recall now
what he said!I saw huge flames of
LOVE covering the entire Earth -
even beyond the horizon. And the
friend that brought me exclaimed -
'I AM IN LOVE!'.
--- Later:
About 6 months later I was in a bus
terminal in Santa Cruz CA, felt a wave
of emotion and had to sit down.
My friend came by and informed my that
Krishnamurti had just dropped 'his' body.
There are tremendous connections
between Sri Ramana Maharishi
(inquiry) and Buddhism. But his
presence was that of a perfect Bhakta...
---
I concluded that Krishnamurti could
not be understood by reading his
words. Note for example the long
quote above. The keyword there
is 'separating yourself'. By that he
means to be out of the ocean of
love that we are - our true cosmic
body or pure existence, pure
consciousness. So you really need
the relevant experience to understand
a Masters teaching. One way is
to sit at the feet of a true Master
for a long time - and surrender
all. All you really got is suffering!
It is a shame that many present
him as a thinker: 'greatest thinkers
and religious teachers', but its not so.
Simply the ocean of Love manifested
thru him and tried to lead people to
his experience of Truth.
No thinker in the least.
