Hinduism Brings Blessings,
Protection and Joy that
elevates all in the house,
office or room. GANESHA
'The remover of obstacles'.
Brings good luck, harmony
and great success Notes:
All Hindu sacred images are
filled with meaning - like a
whole book! Ganesha -
in this common representation
of meditation, the image is
inside a cave-like block or
structure. This represents
that the deity lies in the
'block' or stillness of pure
consciousness - a mind
with no agitation or
restlessness. Its the
mage of equanimity and
patience. The restlessness
of the body-form and
mind has been conquered.
Look for details in the hands,
where the image is seated,
animal forms etc. In essence
they are based on conquering
the restless mind and all
associated mental states leading
to suffering and ignorance.
They all point to a way out of
suffering into unlimited bliss
and knowledge. The sacred
scriptures and texts give life
and context to these images.
This three-headed form
represents the three states of
being called the Gunas
(Qualities and Attributes).
They are: GUNAS: Sattva -
equanimity and wisdom Rajas -
active and energy Tamas - inertia
and ignorance Ganesh removes
obstacles in the mind -
restlessness and the gunas.
The open palm means FEARLESS
- a key quality for success in anything.
The other hand has a sweet that
symbolizes Enlightment - the end
of the Gunas. Enlightment is called
also Sat-Chit-Ananda, which means:
Truth - Conciousness – Bliss, the result
of removing all obstacles. Ganesh
rides on an animal - usually a mouse
(big or small). The mouse means the
restless mind, so he conquers it as it is above it.
